With David Černý and Martin Janecký, we introduced last year the first bottle from an art series launched with Klitorie. The bottle depicted a clitoris and a penis — and yes, those are perfectly proper terms for exactly what they are — arguably the two most important organs.
And this year, we’re moving on to the next one: the heart. David designed a realistic rendering, and Martin blew as hard as his lungs would allow.
Meanwhile, we weren’t distilling — we were blending a liqueur. Our very first mixology creation. The kind that’s used drop by drop. A bitter, you might say.
The base is brandy — oak-aged wine spirit. It contains a sour cherry macerate and an herbal macerate composed of vanilla, tonka beans, and cardamom. The result is brutally, hardcore (aha! now you know where the name comes from) aromatic. Intoxicating. A powerful elixir intended for mixology — for crafting cocktails. Just a drop, 1–2 cl in your drink, and it becomes a true affair of the heart.
